Acacia is a genus of shrubs and trees belonging to the sub family Mimosoideae of the family Fabaceae. Acacias are also known as thorn trees or wattles and are characterised by rapid growth patterns compared to other timbers. Acacia makes excellent plantation timber and reach felling height within 8 - 10 years compared with teak which is rotated in cycles of 25 – 40 years.
All our timber is sourced from sustainable forests in Western Rajasthan and Punjab. This means the trees used in your product has been replaced and the forest managed in such a way as to benefit the local economy, community and wildlife. The timber is characterised by attractive grain and colour contrast and will appear to change colour under different light sources.
